Proclamation of 1763

The king of England said the colonists were not allowed to go into the Ohio River Valley because he did not want to pay for another war.

Stamp Act of 1765

The British government decided to put tax on all things paper to help pay for the war. The colonists begin to boycott, because this act.

The Townshend Act of 1767

The British government decided not only to put tax on paper, but as well as glass, lead, paints, and tea. This caused the colonists to not only boycott, but also start to smuggle those items in.
