Keep the Main Thing the Main Thing
As we end out the 6 weeks, many factors are in need of our attention: grades, Common Assessment structures, SPED/ELL/504 Accommodations and Modifications, Data Gathering, Data Tracking, and managing the everyday functions and schedules of the campus. These items ARE important, but we can not deliver on these tasks by taking away from quality instruction and planning.
Our Main Thing as educators if to provide instructional content in a manner that moves kids forward. This HAS to be our Main Thing. It is not our ONLY thing, we still have other deadlines and tasks, but if something was to decrease, it is NOT the quality of our planning that guides our instruction.
As the year continues, and speeds up when Thanksgiving draws near, and then immediately after our November break then Christmas/Winter excitement comes paired with End of Semester tasks, 6 weeks grades, and many others. These other ancillary items will start to build up. Do not let them build up, or they will take away of instruction; if this happens, the ripple effects will cause a tidal wave.
Keep the Main Thing the Main Thing, and we will succeed together as a campus.
Onward!
10th Week in Review
Our second Common Assessment is completed and ALL of our 3-5th Grade answer documents have been uploaded!!
We have also just completed the end of our 2nd 6 weeks and today starts our 3rd Six Weeks. We only have 9 days left until Thanksgiving Break and 24 instructional days until Fall ACPs!! We have our routines established, in place, and constantly reinforced!
We are looking forward to updating our class placements from CA in the Main Entrance Hall as well as in our PLC Room. This practice keeps student achievement on the forefront of our mind and is the main factor in our decision making.
We will use data to guide our practice and next steps as we continue through PLCs into Thanksgiving break and after.
Teacher Shout Outs!!
Our students are gaining experience outside of the classroom and school. A very big Shout Out to Mrs. Ortega and Cruz!! Ortega accompanied her club to a Chess Tournament and our students did well in individual and group ratings. Cruz took her club to a Robotics competition and the students loved the opportunity!
