There are many things you may not have known about the turkey and today I am going to give you 7 facts about our wonderful friends, the turkey.
1. If you are tired of a boring old turkey you should try the turducken a mix of a turkey a duck and a chicken. It’s a chicken stuffed in a duck stuffed in a turkey!
2.There about 46 million turkeys are sold in the U.S alone on Thanksgiving.
3. One of our founding fathers wanted to the turkey to be the national bird instead of the eagle
4.Benjamin Franklin loved turkeys
5.Turkeys have amazing eyesight
6.Turkeys have two stomachs
7. 2012 the average person ate 16 pounds of turkey…
So there are some very interesting facts about the turkey for you. You can go buy a turkey (or turducken, whatever floats your boat) and contribute to the 46 million sold turkeys while you work on eating that 16 pounds of needed turkey. Happy Thanksgiving!
