Go, Fight, Win!
Thanks for your enthusiasm for, support of and participation in our Childhood Cancer Awareness activities. Proceeds from our Caps for Cure and gold bow sales fund research to help save children's lives, including some of our very own current and former Central students. We will honor our cancer survivors at our football game tonight. Come out and support our team and our brave kids!
Basket Case
Everyone gets a little crazy when Chromebooks don't work properly. Much of the damage caused to Chromebooks could be avoided if students would keep them in their cases. Please encourage students who are not using cases to do so, and remind students about proper handling techniques to lengthen the lives of our devices.
Heads up!
The Thomas County Health Department will be administering flu shots for the community here at TCCHS on October 15th from 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. That is our teacher work day after fall break. The biggest ways that this will impact you will be parking and entering/exiting campus during the event. We will ask all teachers to park either in the student parking lot or behind the gym, leaving the C hall lot empty. A portion of the student parking lot will be reserved for health department workers and for a post flu shot waiting area. Charlie Ward Boulevard will be closed, so when you leave campus you will need to take the long back road in and out. Part of the Media Center will be used for a staging area and for walk up traffic. This is a drive-though event, but it is my understanding that walk ins are welcome.
Structure Makes Perfect
Ms. Ashleigh Pollock and Ms. Teresa Carver (not pictured) co-teach a US History class where classroom management strategies enhance the learning environment. They utilize bell ringers, pair partners, timed activities, and structured transitions to make the most of every instructional moment!
You got a license to drive that thing?
Every TCC grad leaves with a diploma, but many of them also leave knowing how to drive a tractor! How many schools can brag about that?! Mr. Donald Dalton hosts his annual tractor driving contest, helping his students learn the finer points of maneuvering their farm vehicles.
Even I can drive one!
If nobody saw me driving the tractor, did it really happen? This selfie says it did!
Felicitations!
Isn't it nice when students say thank you for a job well done? French teacher Ms. Kelly Arno enjoyed some well-deserved praise when our Rotary Club student of the month Cynthia Ramos selected her as the TCCHS teacher of the month. Ms. Arno accompanied her student to the Plaza Restaurant for a lovely lunch and recognition before the club members for her positive influence in Cynthia's academic success.
