EBooks are Now Available Through PISD!!!

I'm happy to announce that the Axis360 eBook collection for elementary students is live and ready to use.


The link to access the elementary eBook collection is here: http://pisdelem.axis360.baker-taylor.com I have also added that link to the elementary eBook page on our library resources website, along with links to instructions on how to log in and check out books. Our eBook page is here: https://www.pisd.edu/Page/24533


Quick basic information: students can only check out one eBook at a time, for up to 2 weeks. If they finish reading an eBook sooner than that, they can choose to return the eBook early and check out another eBook. You can check out/view eBooks and eAudiobooks on a web browser or if you have an Android/Apple device, using an app for this purpose.


Students should use their Plano ISD username and password to log in.

What Do I Have Checked Out From the Library?

If you are wondering what you have checked out from the Mathews Library you can find out! We will be initiating a concierge library service somewhat like what the public libraries offer. You certainly want to make sure that you have everything checked in so that you can take advantage of this service. If you find that you do have books at home please bring them to Mathews at your earliest convenience. Due to Covid restrictions there will be a white basket placed near the front door. Please put your library materials in there and I will check them in as soon as the 72 hour hold time has passed.

2020-2021 Bluebonnet List is Out!!!

2020-2021 Bluebonnet List is Out!!!


The Texas Bluebonnet Award Program is a state-wide program for students in grades 3-6. Texas Librarians nominate 20 new books each year from different genres to be on the Bluebonnet list. Its purpose is to promote free-choice reading and expose students to a variety of quality literature.


The rules are simple...read 17 of the 20 selected books, give a brief synopsis of the books read, and come to a breakfast to celebrate you and your incredible achievement! Below you will find the new 2019-2020 reading log. You can print it out or secure one from Mrs. Noble.

Hi Everyone! I am so excited to be back with you for another year! This is my 18th year at Mathews! I have seen lots of boys and girls go through my doors during that time becoming a lover of literature. It is my passion to share with you all the pleasures of what a visit to the library can bring!
