Three Day Summer Institute:
The journey will begin with a three day (July 29-31) summer institute focusing first on personal literacy and then on the literacy of our students. In addition to Donalyn Miller's Reading in the Wild, you will be immersed in reading and writing, both through professional and young adult literature, all of which are yours to keep. You will also earn November trade credit during these days.
Yearlong Support:
The journey does not end on July 31st. As part of the LISD Literacy Institute, you will join an initial cohort of teachers embarking on the same journey. Throughout the school year, there will be other opportunities for collaboration.

You will also be required to have an administrator and one other peer submit the recommendation form below:
*For ELAR teachers of grades 4-7
*Application and Recommendations are due on or before Wednesday, March 26th.
*Applicants can expect to be notified about their participation to the Literacy Institute by Wednesday, April 9th.
*We encourage you to consider inviting a team member/coworker to apply as well.
