Sunset December Newsletter
December 2017
Mission: Sunset will educate and INSPIRE students to THRIVE in an environment of change.
Message from Hafey:
I just want to THANK YOU all for making Sunset such a great place! It takes all of us to lead our students to success - thank you for taking a part in our journey! I want all of you to know that I love my job as the Principal of Sunset Elementary and look at each day as an opportunity granted to me to make a difference in the lives of our students! Thank you for this opportunity! If I don't get to tell you before break, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Hafey
Sincerely,
Mrs. Hafey
Please Welcome....
Ms. Danielle Cates our Health Tech left Sunset for a move and job opportunity closer to her family. Therefore, we were without a Health Tech for a few weeks! Fortunately, we were blessed with the hiring of Mrs. Angie Brameier as our Health Tech! Mrs. Brameier has a passion for helping kids - which makes her a perfect fit for Sunset!
Also....
With our Literacy Grant - we were given the permission to hire an additional Paraprofessional - Mrs. Celeste Sanchez! Mrs. Sanchez comes to us with years of experience and a strong level of expertise when it comes to kids!!!

Hanging out...
Needing your help!!!
On cold days, please drop your kids off in the cafeteria and continue with your day! We have found over the last few days that our students that have parents stay and walk them to their rooms are struggling with 'letting go'! Causing tears and anxiety for some! So, please drop your child off and/or walk them in, but give them their hug and kiss and let them begin their day! If you have questions, please stop by and see me! Thank you for your support in this matter!

Parent Teacher Conferences
THANK YOU to all that were able to attend this very important time (91% participation rate)! As we say many times - It takes a village to raise a child - this is VERY TRUE! Every staff member at Sunset believes we need your partnership in helping your child reach success!
Also, thank you for filling out the Parent Survey (180 filled out)! We have, as a staff, already started working on areas that we gleamed needing our attention!
Results of this survey will be shared out at our next PAC meeting, Tuesday, December 12!
