A Reflection from Dr. Mullenschlader
1. Next week we will not have school Masses. The priests are on convocation and we do not have access to a priest to have Mass. We will resume our regular Mass schedule on October 11.
2. Friday, October 14, we will award Monthly Virtue certificates to the students who have been recognized by their teachers as modeling this month's virtue. This month's virtue is faith, which is a principle virtue of our theme this year.
3. The St. Charles Borromeo School Advisory Board meets in an advisory capacity each month with Fr. Dotson and me. We are excited to begin working on long-range planning projects in the areas of Catholic Identity, Finance and Scholarships, Academics, Marketing and Communication, and Safety and Security. You can read the School Board members' bios in the attachment section of this newsletter.
Information on Iowa Assessments vs Aimsweb
We just completed the Iowa Assessments. We use these assessments as a tool in conjunction with other academic data tools. The results will help us recognize the growth of the children from year to year and identify areas that may require attention. We also utilize Aimsweb, which provides more real-time data because we start out with a benchmark for each child. Both types of assessments have a purpose for us in helping our children grow their intellect and become more of who God made them to be. If you have questions about the Iowa Assessments or Aimsweb, you can contact me. Also, I will be sending out a letter very soon that will help provide more clarity.
Attention Parents:
Calendar Reminder
October 21 is the day before Fall Break and it is a full day. This was communicated prior to the year beginning and has been in the Newsletter every week since the start of school. See the 22-23 Calendar that is attached to the Newsletter.

Protecting God’s Children
All parents who want to volunteer for any reason at school need to complete the Archdiocesan Prevent and Protect Training.
Here are the instructions or go to the flyer in the attachment section:
Create an account through the Archdiocese at preventandprotectstl.org, register for a background check, sign the code of conduct and sign up for a PGC workshop. If you have any questions, please contact Rosanne at pgc@borromeoparish.com.
Family Pictures
Keep sending in family pictures (a family selfie is fine). The pictures will not be returned, they will be used in a collage in the school
