FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL YARD SIGN

Big picture

For the WHOLE WEEK of Aug. 17

Our PTA is providing a FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL yard sign for the front of the school. This will be on display ALL WEEK so our families will have plenty of opportunity to take photos of your child(ren) and still maintain safety measures and distancing protocols.

I am very grateful to our PTA for providing this opportunity to our families for this unique start to the school year.

THANK YOU PTA!!!

We will also be placing messages on our marquee.

VIRTUAL MEET THE TEACHER

Virtual Meet the Teacher

Monday, Aug. 17th, 5-7pm

Online

MJE Virtual Meet the Teacher Event

Once new class lists are finalized, your teachers will be reaching out to schedule a time to virtually meet with your child in small group settings. We will do this via the computer to give a few minutes for each child to interact with their teacher and a few other classmates.

Your child will not be online from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m.

Each child will have a scheduled time during the window of 5:00 - 7:00 p.m.

Class Lists must be redone due to the 2 Instructional Models being used in KISD. We must take the class lists and match them to our KVA students and F2F student groups to build new class lists. Since the KVA option did not close until August 7 at midnight, we have only been able to begin work on this over the weekend.

HAC (Home Access Center) is still scheduled to be open on Monday, August 17.

Watch for more details on class lists and/or Virtual Meet the Teacher.

KISD Smart Restart

The Katy ISD Fall Semester begins August 19!

What will school look like in the fall? What are my child’s options? How is my child going to be kept safe? We understand that Katy ISD families and staff have many questions regarding our Return to School for the fall semester. Through your feedback, as well as continued guidance from the State of Texas, the Texas Education Agency and local health authorities, we are prepared to safely reopen Katy ISD schools for the 2020-2021 academic year. Katy ISD families will have the option of selecting in-person instruction with COVID-19 safety protocols in place, or virtual instruction via our Katy Virtual Academy (KVA).

Katy ISD School Safety Demonstration Videos

In the School Safety Demonstration Videos, Katy ISD students demonstrate the enhanced safety protocols that will be in place for the 2020-21 school year. These protocols include elementary and secondary classroom, school bus, cafeteria, and facility cleaning procedures, that have been established to protect the health and well-being of students and staff. For more information about Katy ISD’s safety practices, please visit the Safety Protocols webpage for the most up to date information.
