Back to School Edition
Be Amazing.
This year promises to be amazing in the Tuscaloosa City Schools! Our renewed focus is on our mission: to create and support a culture of high expectations for each and every student to achieve personal, academic and career excellence.
Changes are in store for the new school year with new start times for students and new buildings. Mark your calendar for the first day for students on August 8--and be prepared to expect traffic delays.

Commitment to Safety
Thanks to a partnership with the City of Tuscaloosa, TCS will have uniformed officers in all school for the 2018-2019 school year. Mayor Walt Maddox demonstrated his ongoing commitment to the safety of students and teachers in schools by expanding the allocation of School Resource Officers from secondary schools (where they have served for many years) to all schools K-12.
The Tuscaloosa City Board of Education will recognize Chief Steve Anderson and the Tuscaloosa Police Department for its commitment to school safety at its August 7 board meeting.
Looking for Bus Routes?
If you do not receive a postcard by August 3 and your child needs transportation, please contact the school to verify your information in iNOW. Please know that it may take up to three days to assign your child to a bus.
When school starts on August 8, delays in transportation arrivals and departures can be expected as the bus routes are finalized. This could mean changes to your child's route. We appreciate your patience as we make adjustments to the routes in the opening weeks of school to optimize routes and times.
