Hillcrest STEAM Academy Newsletter

March 2020

Big picture

Families,

We hope this newsletter finds you doing well! February was extremely fast because of the short month, inclement weather, and Chief's Celebration. Here is to hoping that March is full of warm weather and outdoor recess. Continue to follow our webpage, Facebook, and Twitter to stay in the loop for everything Hillcrest!

Although Spring Break occurs in March, we still have a FULL calendar of events and happenings. We encourage you to stay involved by joining the PTA (contact hillcrestpta@bsd124.org) or joining as a WatchDOGS volunteer (contact Ms. Beverly in the office at breichert@bsd124.org).

Thank you for supporting HSA!

Open Selection Update

The open selection request form opened on February 15. The window will remain accessible until midnight on March 16, 2020. You DO NOT need to complete this form for students already attending Hillcrest. However, if you would like to have an additional child enter the selection (any grade PreK-5 this year), or have a sibling who does not currently attend Hillcrest, please complete the form. Clicking the link below will take you to more information about the Hillcrest STEAM Academy, the open selection enrollment process, and give you a link to complete an open selection enrollment form.

If you have a child currently on the wait list, you do not need to fill out the form again. They will remain on the wait list until a position becomes available.

Did you know we have a school-based health clinic available to students?

Here is a brief description...

A school-based health clinic works to improve the health of students, increase access to health care and decrease the time lost from school. The clinic provides an optimal setting to foster learning readiness and academic achievement while helping to meet the health care needs of children.

You can locate more information on their website.
