Planning for Home Learning
Parent Edition: Issue #6
Happy Mother's Day
In this week's issue I'm including some updated tips and tricks with SeeSaw and Google Classroom. These are the main platforms that teachers are using to communicate with parents and students. They are the primary vehicles for assignments and activities. The results of our family survey indicated that there were some parents out there are still looking for some help with these resources. Please reach out to us if you are still in need of assistance.

Troubleshooting
1. If you are working on a Chromebook, we have a really great troubleshooting form that will help you to self-diagnose and repair a variety of issues. This is the first place you should try. The form can be found on the Technology Services Page here. We have a brilliant student in 9th grade who created this form and normally is one who would even help to repair broken devices. Thank you!
2. If the problem was not solved by using the form, or your issue did not involve a Chromebook, parents and students can reach out to their buildings' technology liaisons. Each building has two technology liaisons that frequently help students and staff with a variety of issues that they may be having including but not limited to: logins, software questions, hardware issues and more. I can't say enough about how much they do to help our students and staff. They are tremendous!

Note: While we do have the ability to provide loaner devices, we highly discourage turning in your devices for non-critical issues. Some examples of this include but are not limited to: the battery is not holding a charge, the mouse isn't working, the hinge is broken, there is a small crack, etc. As long as the device operates, even if you need to keep it plugged in or use an external mouse, we suggest you keep your device. The loaners are functional but they are older than the devices you currently have and you'll likely have better experience with your assigned device.
