Principal's Corner

Dear Steeby Families,

It has been a pleasure having your children at Steeby Elementary. Thank you for trusting us with their care and education. We all wish our Steeby families a wonderful summer. Don't forget to be active, read, and have lots of fun. See you in August.

Yours in education,

Physical Education Fun

Steeby families,

Our half mile run was a big success with many students giving their best effort. We passed out 40 medals and the rankings of all the times for each student are posted by the gym doors. Your student will likely know what place they were if you ask.

During class, we are finishing up a football unit and then playing fun games the last couple weeks of PE.

We are wrapping up another great year in PE with Field Day! Field Day is Tuesday, May 31 and the 3rd grade group is going from 9:00-11:15 while the 2nd grade group is going from 1:00-3:15.

As always, stay active this summer. Encourage the kids to get out and play and find something fun to do outside.Go to the park and throw a frisbee or football. Play soccer or go for walks/runs. Many memorable experiences are had being active outside!

Media Moments

May was a busy month in media class! Students created some fun poems in media class! First we created poems for a special adult in our lives- using the Theme Poem Creator. Students also created an acrostic poem about spring using the Acrostic Poem Creator. Both poem creators can be found on Information Place. Students also did a research activity using the online encyclopedia called Pebble Go. Second graders learned interesting facts about frogs. Third graders learned interesting facts about the Memorial Day holiday. The Pebble Go website can also be found on Information Place: https://sites.google.com/waylandunion.org/libraries/home?scrlybrkr=7286356e. Students are currently taking a media class survey to share their favorite activities, websites and book ideas with me. Speaking of books.... Please encourage your child to read over the summer! The Henika Library is a great place to check out books over the summer. Here is a link to their website: https://www.henikalibrary.com/kids. Happy Reading! Have a great summer!
