Middle School Weekly Wrap Up
January 18, 2019
2019/2020 Programs:
I would love to hear your opinions and suggestions for programs that could be used to make your life easier or to help students in the classroom.
Obviously, I cannot promise we can purchase it but I am putting together a list and if we have the data to show it is a must.....maybe just maybe we may be able to put in the budget. :)
Please email me and CC Heather and Colleen on your suggestions. Thank you all!!
Common Unit Assessment Time frame:
This needs to be consistent among all teachers for all subject areas. If this time frame is not followed, it will be documented in the PA-ETEP system for noncompliancy.
CDT Testing and Class Schedule:
CDT will be conducted in homeroom with the homeroom teacher for half the a day to ensure we get participation from all students. The afternoon will then have a shortened class schedule. One half day during the window will be ELA test and one half day will be math.
2nd Benchmark Dates & Schedule:
January 31 in the AM (ELA) Homeroom: 9 - 11:10 (12:30 - 1:00 Lunch)
February 7 in the AM (Math) Homeroom 9 - 11:10(12:30 - 1:00 Lunch)
January 31 through February 7 make-up & new students benchmark during PLT (ELA)
February 8 through February 12 make-up & new students benchmark during PLT (Math)
PLT Grades:
Teachers will each put a P or F for their PLT class for the student. This should be determined based on student attendance, participation, work completion, and effort. If the student overall shows effort than mark P. If there is no effort than mark F. Once all teachers have entered a P or F for each student, the homeroom teacher will then decide what the student should receive based on the scale below.
Scale:
1 F and 3 P's = P
2 F's and 2 P's = P
3 F's and 1 P = F
4 F's = F
4 P's = P
For Example:
Student: Bridget Kozar
Math PLT - F
ELA PLT - P
History PLT - P
Science PLT - P
This student would receive a P on the report card with one F and three P's = PLT Grade - P
All directions will be on the spreadsheet when sent on Tuesday.
Parent/Student/Teacher Conferences:
- Conferences will be held on February 13, 14, and 15th.
- The 13th and 14th will be full day conference days with students and parents.
- The 15th will be a half day of conferences in the morning.
- Students will follow the below schedule for Friday, February 15 for daily classes.
