Wolfpack Press, Yearbook, Studio 903 and VUSD CTE are proud to announce the release of the latest edition of The Howl Spring 2022. Twice per year, students publish this collection of journalism, artwork, and their own creative writing pieces. Check it out!

Spirit Week is Next Week: Mental Health Awareness Theme

Next week is the National Mental Health Awareness Week, and MVHS is celebrating with a full slate of spirit days.

Monday: Mellow Monday - wear your PJ's to reduce stress

Tuesday: Twin Tuesday - Team up against stress!

Wednesday: Wear Red Wednesday - Spread love and give compliments

Thursday: Tie-Dye Thursday - Use color to express yourself

Friday: Timberwolves Fam Friday - Wear your T-Wolf Pride Gear and Green

Space Still Available for New 9th Graders

Prospective families and students who missed the initial magnet application window may apply to our post-deadline (waitlist) application for the 2022-2023 school year. Currently, we anticipate space for incoming 9th graders. As space becomes available, we will make additional offers of admission to students based on our Districts magnet enrollment policy. Check the MVHS website for a link to the application.

New Bell Schedule for Next Year

This past Wednesday, our Board of Trustees voted to approve new starting times for schools at the elementary, middle, and high school levels. For MVHS, this means a start time most days of 8:30 and an end time of 3:25. Mondays will be late-start, with school beginning at 9:30. Stay tuned for final bell schedule details as we get closer to the end of the school year.

Student Ambassadors for 2022-2023 - Application is Open

Students: Are you interested in serving as an MVHS Student Ambassador for the 2022-2023 school year? MVHS relies on Student Ambassadors to share their experience from MVHS programs with prospective students and invited guests. Student Ambassadors lead groups of parents/8th-grade students on school tours, and they often participate in student panels hosted for visiting guests; in years past, we have hosted guests from all over the country, and there are several planned visits from educators across the U.S. for the 2022-2023 school year. Student Ambassadors are able to add their service to brag sheets, resumes, community service logs, and college applications, and they are adorned with additional regalia during graduation.


If you are interested in serving as a Student Ambassador, please complete this APPLICATION by Friday, May 27th.

Summer School Opportunities for Credit Recovery and Enrichment

As we did last summer, MVHS will offer summer school opportunities for both credit recovery as well as remediation. Summer school will be in-person and will run in two, 3-week sessions, from June 13th-July 22nd, and students who are interested can choose which session best fits their summer schedule.


Students who failed a class (or classes) will have the option to recover those credits through Edgenuity (online platform) under the guidance and supervision of an MVHS teacher. Our Counseling Team has already met with many students and helped to identify courses that will help to get them back on track for A-G completion and/or graduation requirements.


If you are interested in taking summer school classes to recover credits, please complete THIS FORM BY Friday May 20th.


Enrichment opportunities will be offered in a variety of programs, including the arts, pre-AP preparation, athletics training, and others. We will send targeted communication to students based on course requests for next year, and/or interest in athletics programs at MVHS.

Senior Information

Graduation is right around the corner on June 8th. To that end, we would like to highlight some key information for you and your student, including details about graduation tickets, mandatory rehearsals, and purchasable leis through our PTSA.

Last but not least, we are happy to announce that each senior will be given up to 8 tickets to distribute amongst their family and friends! These will be handed out to each senior on June 7th after the second mandatory rehearsal. If you have any questions about graduation, please email our senior class adviser Brianna Raphael at briannaraphael@vistausd.org or contact the assistant principal secretary Mrs. Vivian Boring at 760-758-6800.

Last Chance to Donate to our Fundraiser for Ukraine

Schools across Vista Unified have expressed an increasing desire to support the families who have been directly impacted by the conflict in Ukraine. Accordingly, we have organized a districtwide fundraiser, led by a group of passionate Mission Vista High School students and staff members to make this happen. All proceeds will be donated to Save the Children, a highly reputable charity organization whose mission is to provide physical aid (food, medical, hygiene, etc.) and psychological aid to Ukrainian families with young children who have been directly impacted by the conflict. School Climate Survey for 9th and 12th grade Students

For the past seven years, Vista Unified has partnered with UCSD to obtain school and district climate data from a variety of stakeholders, including students. The data collected is anonymous and is very helpful for us as a school site and a district to understand where we are being successful and where we can grow in terms of creating positive environments that are conducive to student learning.


This year, the surveys are targeting two grade levels--9th and 12th graders only. The link to the survey can be found here.

Scholarship Workshops Every Tuesday

Seniors; don’t forget to check out the Local Scholarship Calendar; this will have deadlines for scholarships provided by local organizations. The Career Center will have Scholarship Workshops every Tuesday, during period 4 . Seniors who don’t have a 4th period, come by and get any help you may need!

The Timberwolves Foundation

The mission of the Timberwolves Foundation is to enhance, enrich, and encourage all aspects of education at MVHS and provide grants to promote the development of programs, classroom innovations, and support all school clubs.

As always, Thank you for supporting the MVHS Timberwolves Foundation. Thanks to your continued support this school year, we were able to support our clubs and athletics with grant requests as well as educational scholarships for seniors as they move their educational goals to colleges/universities.
