Welcome Back, Class of 2033!
Welcome to Ms. Hugill's First Grade Class
A Note From Ms. Hugill
Welcome, Park Panthers!
My name is Ashlyn Hugill, I am thrilled and honored to be teaching our 1st grade class, class of 2033! This year will be filled with learning, adventure, success and laughter! We will discover new treasures in reading, writing, math, social studies, science and so much more! Our classroom will be a safe haven for all students to feel confident, loved and appreciated each day. Every student will be encouraged to dive into their unique creativity, build their critical thinking skills, and showcase their authentic character!
We have much to learn this year, and it is just getting started! As we ease into the new school year, please know that I am here as a teacher, mentor, guide and friend. We, together, can help build the future of our student's successes. I will extend grace with any new learning endeavors that we will come across, I will provide solutions to the speed bumps that might take place, and I will make sure our kiddos grow and learn as much as they possibly can each and every day.
I encourage positive conversations and open-communication for all of our families and students. Please do not hesitate at any time to reach out with questions, voice concerns or if you would like to open up and just chat! I understand that beginning a new school year comes with a ton of new information, and I promise to help navigate a smooth transition into the new year. The best way to communicate this year is through the Remind App ( click here / follow directions listed below) or through my school email ahugill@durangoschools.org.
I am fully dedicated to your child's well-being, and the success of their learning achievements this year! Thank you for letting me be apart of their educational journey, I cannot wait to meet you all soon!
Big love and big hugs!
-Ms. Hugill

Text Messages & Class Updates: REMIND APP
Please download the Remind App on your phone if you would like to use text messages as a means of communication, and receive immediate updates and reminders from Ms. Hugill.
This year, families will have the opportunity to download the Remind App for quick updates, text messages and classroom reminders. Remind is a two-way communication application used to communicate on-the-go! Families can use this app to send text messages and receive updates, information, reminders, and daily reports. This is a quick way to send Ms. Hugill a text message, and receive all important 'happenings' in the classroom.
