Have a Great Labor Day Weekend!

It's hard to believe that we are completing our third week of school and that we are into the month of September. The first three weeks of school have been loaded with events and activities, which has led to some extra excitement. We have felt a great deal of positive energy here at the school that has come from students, staff, and parents. We encourage everyone to keep that energy going as we progress further into the school year.

Have a great Labor Day weekend!!

Lens of Gratitude

One thing is for certain, in our lives we will face obstacles, challenges, and setbacks. Times when we feel down and discouraged. It's during these times that we can easily develop a negative attitude and outlook. When these times come we often question and wonder how we get through them and keep a good attitude. The truth is it's not easy. One of the most important things we can do as human beings to keep a good attitude and combat negativity is to have and keep an attitude of gratitude. Each of us have lives that look very different, but if we truly take a moment and evaluate our lives with a lens of gratitude, we'll notice so many things we are fortunate to have from our friends and families to the possessions and the lives we GET to live. With gratitude, we learn to stay positive when things get tough knowing that we have so many good things in our lives. Gratitude can also help us to see the big picture. So many times our challenges, obstacles, and setbacks help us to grow and improve. Knowing this and using a lens of gratitude makes it possible to start to look at our challenges, obstacles, and setbacks as opportunities. Opportunities to grow and improve leading to success. When we use a lens of gratitude we can see the possibilities and positive opportunities in the things that used to get us down and defeat us. Having an attitude of gratitude is not a once in a while thing, we have to learn to use our lens of gratitude everyday.

Choose to use your lens of Gratitude!

In 2021, the State Treasurer’s Office allowed districts that had paid ten years on their bond the

opportunity to refinance. Akron Business Manger, Kelli McCaffrey was a driving force in pushing to get our school's interest rate on our bond reduced prior to and after the allowance was made by the treasurer's office. As a result, the Akron Board of Education approved a resolution in 2021, dropping the interest rate from 4.082% to 1.91% saving the Akron taxpayers approximately $455,000.
