Our Fourth Week
This week, we had a great time writing, making the letter sound, and brainstorming words beginning with the letters F, G, and H. We read the story, Plaidypus Lost and If You Give a Mouse a Cookie to help us identify how to sequence a story. We reviewed rhyming words and syllables. We wrote sentences in our journal using the words "I", "am", "the", "little", and "a". In Math, we are able to identify numbers greater than and less than. We learned a song about how the alligator eats the bigger number. We made a Gummy bear Graph for the letter āGā, but the students also had to identify what color had the greatest number and what color had the smaller number. In STEM, we have discussed how to prepare for dangerous weather, such as tornadoes, hurricanes, and blizzards. We did a STEM activity where the students had to build a structure using legos and/or wooden blocks to help protect their toys from a hazardous storm.
Next week, it is all about apples !!! We will taste test, measure, weigh, label, and identify the life cycle of an apple. We will make many different types of food with apples. We will learn about the life of Johnny Appleseed. In Math, we will be writing, counting, tallying, and identifying numbers 11 to 20.
