A Note from Mr. Capp


Families, while the Covid news and emails churn through your inbox, please know that we are actually doing school inside the walls of Steele! Students are creating goals for the D11 profile, and for math growth, and they are working daily on relating to each other and growing friendships. Teachers are diagnosing math and reading strengths, and identifying skill gaps to work on. Next week our tutoring team meets with each grade level to schedule and target groups with specific instruction. We are already seeing our Kinders figuring out ‘school!’ They know where lunch is, and are learning to ask a neighbor before the teacher, and are figuring out concepts of print.


Just so you know, I will be out of the office for all next week, dropping the last Capp Kid at college. Rhonda Toombs will be Principal in my absence, and I will be checking in when possible. My supervisor knows and will also be on call should anything weird come up!


Thank you, as ever, for bringing your beautiful children here every day to learn and grow.

PICTURE DAY IS TUESDAY 09/07 - Class and individual pictures will be taken.

Online ordering is available at Lifetouch.com, no need to bring in payment confirmation, Lifetouch will have your electronic order. Lifetouch school ID is below. Paper order forms were sent home as well, please make sure to bring those Tuesday morning if you choose to use them.

The Buddy Family Program


We had a hiccup with the sign-up link for the Buddy Program last week. If you wanted to sign up, but couldn’t get the link to work for you, we have included the link again below or you can cut and paste it into your browser.

Box Tops for Education Program


A great way to support Steele Elementary is to participate in the Box Tops for Education program. Box Tops are only accepted on-line by downloading the Box Top app from your app store. Take a picture of your receipt and submit. Money goes straight to the school.

Just for Fun

Our Little Library located by the gazebo was drained of many of its books this summer. If you have extra books you no longer need, please drop them off in the Little Library. Take a book and leave a book to encourage individuals of all ages to read more!
