Knightly Update September 10, 2023
ACP High School - Edition Vol 3 Issue 10
________________________________________
It is hard to believe 21 years have past since that fateful day, but the memories are still vivid. While our students were not yet born, I hope they will take time to learn, ask questions and understand the significance of of this day and honor every life that was taken too soon. As September 11th is a National Day of Service, I encourage our students to find ways to honor the victims by keeping alive the spirit of unity and service that arose in the immediate aftermath of the September 11th attacks. We will never forget.
I want to thank those of you that have made a donation to our school's PTO. Your generosity helps our school in many ways throughout the year - both students and staff. Thank you! If you have not made a donation but would like to do so, please click here. As a reminder, we ask families to consider making a $60 donation on behalf of their child or $90 if multiple children attend ACP. As a reminder, our PTO is a member of the Chandler School Boosters 501c3 non-profit organization, so your donation may be tax-deductible. Thank you for supporting your child and our school.
I hope you have a very nice week. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me. Thank you for choosing to be a part of our school. Enjoy the week.
Rob Bickes
Principal

PSAT Assessment Deadline - September 11
Attention Knights! PSAT Fees are due September 11th to the bookstore or via Infinite Campus. Families must add the PSAT charge to the account themselves, the system does not automatically add the fee. Directions for how to complete this are listed in the “How To Pay Fees” document (below & attached).
If families would like for students to practice the PSAT before we take it on campus on October 24th, there are two options to do so:
- Visit the College Board website to see practice opportunities: PSAT/NMSQT Full-Length Practice Tests - SAT Suite (collegeboard.org)
- Revolution Prep is offering a practice PSAT opportunity for students to complete at home. Please scan the QR code on the attachment and register if you are interested.
Revolution Prep is also hosting an informational Webinar for parents in September. Please follow the instructions on that flyer to join the Webinar.
Reach out to Ludwig.Christine@cusd80.com with any questions regarding the PSAT

Dual Enrollment Deadline - September 15
The Dual Enrollment registration deadline is this Friday, September 15th. To check if a class at ACP is offered for Dual Enrollment credit, please click here to review the ACP High School 2023-24 Dual Credit class list. The enrollment process can take up two weeks so it is important that you start the registration process as soon as possible.
Please refer to the Admissions and Enrollment Process step by step CGCC PowerPoint for guidance in the registration process. Because there are many steps, we encourage you to review the above power points before starting.
If you are a new dual enrollment student please begin the process by clicking HERE.
Returning dual enrollment student step by step instructions can be found here (returning students use the same MEID as in previous years).
Students must meet the prerequisite criteria for the Dual Enrollment course or have a qualifying placement score by taking an appropriate placement test. To review the prerequisite criteria, begin by by visiting CGCC's dual enrollment website. Once on the webpage, click on "Arizona College Prep" to open the course offering spreadsheet. On the spreadsheet, hover over the prerequisites cell to review what your child needs to have (i.e. test score, GPA) or must complete in order to enroll.
All CGCC courses require some form of placement testing or prerequisite. In most cases, juniors and seniors may use their unweighted GPA, or passing ACT/SAT scores to meet the pre-requisite for dual enrollment classes. Freshmen and sophomores can meet the pre-requisite needed for dual enrollment by testing with EdReady. EdReady is a placement test that can be taken online in the student's home. In order to take the placement tests, you will need your MEID number. The EdReady tests are available HERE.
Be sure to review the Prerequisite Placement Chart which includes the EdReady and Accuplacer placement scores students must obtain in order to enroll in specific courses.
All of this information can be found on our school's counseling website as well.
For questions, please feel free to reach out to CGCC at 480-732-7006. Thank you.

The PREP PTO is the official parent/teacher organization of ACP High. Our role is to help support the staff, students, and faculty of ACP. School funds only go so far. We work closely with the administration to help determine the needs and then fund those needs. We support back-to-school events, teacher requests, general requests from the administration, graduation, and so much more. We support the entire school!
We do minimal fundraising throughout the year, so to assist us with our events and school support, we ask families to consider making a Booster donation.
Our suggested Booster Donation is:
$60 per student
$90 per family (2 or more students attending ACPHS)
Donations over $150 will receive an ACP Spirit T-shirt by the end of August.
Any donations to The Prep PTO are greatly appreciated but are not required.
The PrepPTO is a member of the Chandler School Boosters 501c3 non-profit organization. Your donation may be tax-deductible. Please consult your tax professional for information/clarification.
Thank you for your support.

Please Make a Tax Credit Donation
If you are able to make your tax contributions early in the year, your donation would be greatly appreciated and give us a jump start on some of our essential extracurricular activities. We have set a goal to collect approximately $50.00 per family for a total of $57,500.00 and hope that you will be willing to help us meet our goal. Thank you for supporting your child and our school!
Tax Credit Basics…
A tax credit donation is a full refund, not a deduction. Contributions eligible for a tax credit are donated directly to schools, not to the state or school district. To participate or learn more, follow the link listed below to donate online or you can complete the enclosed form and submit your contribution at your convenience.
http://www.cusd80.com/taxcredit
Arizona Law ARS 43-1089.01 enables taxpayers a tax credit contribution of up to $400.00 per year if filing status is “Married, filing Joint Return;” $200.00 per calendar year if filing status is “Single of Head of Household;” and $200 per calendar year if filing status is “Married filing separate returns.” These contributions fund extracurricular activities in public schools and greatly impact our school community and our students.
