A Note from Mrs. Nichols
We all know that the next (almost) two weeks will fly by, so be sure to take note of the important reminders in my newsletter.
How can you stay up-to-date with school news?
- Recorded phone messages are sent out when there is important news.
- A monthly (and sometimes more-frequently!) newsletter will be sent to families. Here is where you can find copies of previous newsletters: https://wves.buncombeschools.org/o/we/page/news-from-the-nest
- We have an active Facebook page at www.facebook.com/WeavervilleES. We will post most event announcements and important information there as well.
- Please make sure you have current phone numbers and email addresses in your PowerSchool Contact Manager account. This will help us reach YOU in case of an emergency. If you're not getting messages, please reach out to our data manager, Ms. Dawn Flanigan-Bryson (dawn.flanigan-bryson@bcsemail.org).
- Our school website can be found here: wves.buncombeschools.org. The website was re-formatted this summer, so we are still working on getting some things up-to-date. Thanks for your patience!
- Teachers will send weekly information via email/class website.
- We have a Student and Families Handbook you can find linked at the bottom of every newsletter. I am still working on updating some details in it, but most of it is ready for your eyes! Please use the table of contents to navigate directly to a page with the topic about which you're interested in reading.
See you soon, WvES Families!

School Breakfast and Lunch
Big Change! This year school lunch will not be free for all students as it has been the past 2 school years. Please note these important changes:
- Breakfast: FREE for all!
- Student Lunch: $3.50
- Adult Lunch: $4.75
- Students who qualify for free or reduced lunch: Free!
Throughout the year, Mrs. Nichols will contact families of students who have multiple charges on their account. Please complete a school lunch application for free/reduced lunch to see if you qualify!
Apply here! The requirements have adjusted, so even if you didn't qualify in the past, consider applying again to check and see.
