We are moving to Canvas!
Get trained by the pool this Summer!
Would you like to get ahead in your PD requirements for next year?
This Summer, you will receive 4 hours of technology PD credit for the 20-21 school year by completing Canvas online trainings with a score of 80% or better. Wait, but there is more! If you complete the training and your Canvas Classroom set-up and customization process by August 1st, you will receive ½ day exchange time (date TBD).
Why Canvas?
Why Canvas
What do I need to do?
- Log in to Canvas by clicking on the Google waffle, scroll down to find the Canvas icon. Always use your Google teacher account.
- Complete the "Preparing to launch" course in the Canvas Training Portal with a score of 80% or higher.
- Complete "Growing with Canvas" course work with a score of 80% or higher. Work no more than one module per day, give yourself enough time to process what you learned and practice, practice, practice, using your Sandbox course!
- Set up a Canvas classroom for each teaching prep that you will have next year. For example, if I teach Algebra I and Geometry, I will set up two Canvas Classrooms. Everything that you build will be imported in the Tyler created class shells with just a few clicks.
How do I get started? (must watch!)
The video below will walk you through the steps that need to be taken to complete the Canvas training, find and import the Community ISD Master Template that all teachers should use to build their courses, and how to set up your Canvas Classroom.
NOTE. Everything you create in Canvas now will be able to be imported into your 2020-2021 courses from Tyler in just a few clicks.
