Last month we planted peppers and tomatoes in the school garden. We discussed the difference between garden and store bought tomatoes. We also touched upon the local favorite the Cherokee Purple Tomato. We harvested some Kale from the garden to have with the school lunch. It was the final harvest to make room for the summer planting. As we wrap up this years garden time remember to pull some garlic on the last day of school to take home and use in your family meal. We planted it last November. And during the summer swing by the garden to see how well it is doing and harvest something you grew! Children will eat more veggies if they helped growd it! :-)
