Message from the Principal
Dear Central Road Families,
Valentine’s Day parties will take place this week on Friday, February 14th from 1:30-2:30 p.m.. Parents will be welcomed into the building at 1:00 p.m.. Please remember, our parties will be free of food items. Valentine’s Day cards may not include any candy or food. Thank you for supporting our food policy. We are looking forward to having a lot of fun during our parties while sharing kindness, love and joy.
Central Road’s Open House is in February this year. Our annual open house will take place on Thursday, February 27th from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Classrooms will showcase student’s work from this school year. We can’t wait to see you there!
We are very happy to offer the Rainbows Program again at Central Road for this school year. The Rainbows Program is a support group for children and pre-teens, who have suffered a loss in their lives due to divorce, separation, death, missing a parent, military deployment or other painful transitions. The Rainbows Program gives kids an opportunity to meet with other kids of the same age who are dealing with similar situations and feelings. Permission slips will be sent home with students. If you feel that your child would benefit from participating in our Rainbow’s program, please contact Ms. Jarosz at 847-963-5127.
As the temperatures outside change, there are days our field has a few damp areas. Children enjoy running and playing with their friends during recess. At times, students' clothing gets wet during recess. We want children to be comfortable in class. Our nurse will contact parents for a change of clothes. We also recommend you keep an extra set of clothing in your child’s backpack during the next few months.
Congratulations to our 6th grade students that participated in the District 15 Two Ball Tournament. We are so proud of you!
Thank you to all of our families that attended Central Road’s Reading Night. The students enjoyed being engaged in literacy activities during our event!
Let’s make it a great week!
