"Love First, Last, & Always"
There is no doubt about it, the pressure it on. Day to day life has changed, and these changes can feel hard.
But God is here with us, in the struggle, in the frustration, in the pain, and in the loneliness. He is working. He is with us as we stumble and change and grow. But as Steven Furtick says, the goal isn’t to just get through this; the goal is for God to show us something in it that makes us better on the other side. This will end. We will reach the other side. Through this journey, how will God have changed you?
When you’re doubting God’s presence during this challenging time, give this song a listen. Diamonds, by Hawk Nelson, reminds us that God is with us, and through this pressure He is turning us into something beautiful:
Here and now I'm in the fire in above my head
Being held under the pressure don't know what'll be left
But it's here in the ashes, I'm finding treasure
He's making diamonds, diamonds, making diamonds out of dust
He is refining and in His timing,
He's making diamonds out of us
And you had better believe God’s hand is at work in our children’s lives, too. Yes, their soccer season was cancelled. The field trip they were looking forward to is no longer. Seeing classmates in person is not an option. Our kids miss their teachers, coaches, grandparents, and neighbours. But our children are learning patience, empathy, strength, resilience, faith, kindness and so much more. God is at work in our children’s lives. With His guidance, this experience is making our children into diamonds, too.
Without a doubt, God is here, and He’s making diamonds out of all of us.
