PREPARED
During the month of February, Woodward Park Wildcats will once again focus on our Core Value of being PREPARED!
When students are PREPARED, they have all of their needed materials ready for the school day, including their charged chromebook. They listen to teacher directions to complete all assignments and to study for upcoming quizzes and tests.
At school, PREPARED students have their planner with them every day and use it as a hall pass for the restroom.
During the winter season, PREPARED Wildcats check the weather forecast and tune in to school alerts and closings. Also, it is important for PREPARED Wildcats to wear appropriate gear for the weather and for outdoor recess on days that temperatures are above freezing!
Self Awareness
When students are PREPARED, they are showing great Self Awareness Skills!
"Self Awareness: the abilities to understand one's own emotions, thoughts and values and how they influence behavior across contexts. This includes capacities to recognize one's strengths and limitations with a well-grounded sense of confidence and purpose."
Integrating personal and social identities; learning to "just be yourself!"
Identifying your emotions
Linking your feelings, values and thoughts
Having a growth mindset (Check out this video!)
Examining your prejudices and biases
Developing your sense of purpose

Service Above Self
All students have until February 10 to bring in nonperishable canned and boxed food items to their homeroom.
Thank you to our student ambassadors who have successfully served in our group to make this endeavor possible: Ani'ah McCauley (8th grade), Ebony Nimely (7th grade) and Anthony Ferreira (6th grade), and thank you to School Counselors Mrs. Smith and Mrs. Torrence for guiding this group to success!
Anthony Ferreira handles the canned goods inventory at Walden with classmates Marcus Grooms and Dedrick Nixon.

"Columbus is the largest city in Ohio, and it’s the capital of our state. Many of the conversations and decisions that could ultimately impact students today, and in the future, are made at 1 Capitol Square - The Ohio Statehouse.
Since its opening to legislators and the public in 1857, the Statehouse has witnessed Ohio’s most historic voting decisions. In addition to state leaders, more than 500,000 visitors tour Capitol Square each year. Throughout the month of February, CCS students and families are invited to add their names to the growing guestbook.
In addition to weekend tours, CCS families are also encouraged to join us for our Family & Community Resource Day on Saturday, February 11, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m."
