Classroom Highlight- Community Circles
Every morning, all Reynolds students participate in Community Circles to kick off the day. Community Circles, a district-wide initiative that began during the 2020-2021 school year, allow students and teachers to connect and bond in meaningful ways. Teachers are able to use the opportunity to address a variety of topics that pertain directly to the students in their classes. Community Circles develop a culture of collaboration, risk-taking, openness, respect, and honesty.
This year, all of the related arts teachers are participating in Community Circles. They rotate between classes to spend time participating in class routines and bonding experiences. In Kindergarten, Mr. Walis joined Miss Titunick’s class during the first week of school. Together, Miss Titunick and Mr. Walis discussed routines and shared expectations for the students in both classroom environments. The students enjoyed discovering the similarities, as well as the differences. They are excited to run in the gym and walk safely in the classroom!

Pete the Cat visits Reynolds School
Pete the Cat and Miss Erin, from the USR Public Library, are visiting our Kindergarten students at Reynolds School today. The children will enjoy a Pete the Cat story and then learn how they can get a USR library card of their own. Check out the USR Public Library website to learn how to get your own library card.
Halloween Parade
Our Halloween Day Parade will be held on the front loop of Reynolds School on Friday, October 29, 2021. We will hold one parade for Reynolds School that will take place at 9:00 am. The children are asked to wear their costumes to school. They should bring clothes that they can change into following the parade. Please keep in mind that we do not permit scary masks.
A letter is coming home with more information. We look forward to a spooktacular day!
BUS SAFETY DRILLS
On September 20th, all Reynolds students participated in an annual bus evacuation drill. Scholastic Bus Co. demonstrated how to evacuate the bus via the rear emergency exit door. Students learned what to do in the event of a bus emergency and how to keep themselves safe. Mandatory bus drills benefit all students, as students travel on a bus for field trips and many to/from school. A second bus evacuation drill will be held in the spring.
