District 109 Community Update

November 20, 2020

Why Are You Thankful?

District 109 is putting together a video to showcase how thankful we are as a community! We are looking for students, staff, parents, guardians, and community members! All you need to do is record one sentence of saying "I'm thankful for...." and upload it to this Flipgrid by Monday, November 23 at 5 p.m! (QR code on the right is for the Flipgrid)

A reminder that K-5 does not have school on Monday, November 23! It's a planning day for staff.

6th-8th graders do have school that day.

District-wide SEL Initiative

As mentioned at the Board of Education meeting on Monday night, District 109 will be partnering with Heidy LaFleur on an upcoming community wide social-emotional learning initiative. Our goal in partnering with Heidy to implement the “Better Together” initiative will be to focus on creating a shared understanding of practical strategies to help navigate these challenging times together. Please watch this quick video to learn more about Heidy and the work she will be doing with our District. The first community wide event will take place on Thursday, December 10 at 7 pm. We will share additional details and the zoom link for this event soon.
