Grant Gazette

Have a GREAT weekend!
Thank you for your service to our school and our families this week during Parent-Teacher Conferences! I appreciate the extra work it takes and the time it takes to prepare for and execute these important meetings with parents!
SMART Goals review!
Thank you to those of you who've met with me regarding your SMART goals. I will be gone Tuesday and Wednesday (APL training) but please let me know times you're available to discuss your SMART goals.
Buildings and Grounds
I am meeting with Bill Robinson on Oct. 5 to discuss Grant's buildings and grounds and what we need immediately, 2-3 years down the road, and beyond.
If you have ideas (wishes, dreams, etc) to enhance our building/grounds, please get them to me and I'll discuss them with Bill.
Tweet of the Week!
I love articles from edutopia.org!
Although I've seen no one at Grant who seems to be an "unhappy educator," articles like these can really help us reflect and re-charge.
And if you've ever read FISH, it's another good reminder of that great book!
Please welcome Donna Coover on Monday!
Donna Coover will be starting work at Grant as a paraprofessional on Monday. Please welcome her to the building and help her adapt to be a part of our awesome Grant team. Donna will be working a great deal with 3rd and 4th grades, and will also work in Lynn Baker's room from 12:30 until 1:10.
Prime Time Family Reading is next Tuesday!
I'm hoping for a great turnout for Prime Time on Tuesday from 6:00-7:30pm. I will be unable to make it for the first one, but should be at all the others!
Thank you to Karolee and Debi for organizing this and to everyone who serves as a guest reader or helps in any way!
Videos of the Week
I included two videos--the first is the Grant video that I've submitted to @NELovesPS (Nebraska Loves Public Schools). I'm sure that most of you have seen that one already.
The other is one of the "E:60" stories that I told you about during our July meeting. Kind of a "overcoming the odds" story with a school and sports backdrop.
