The Road and the Radio

A soundtrack of the twists and turns so far by Rocky Nink

Dedications

This one goes out to a list of people that is rather extensive. For better or for worse, I would not be the person I am today without the impact of everyone that at one point or another, was a part of my life. Strangers, family, old friends and new friends. I just want to thank everyone for being a part of one big, uncoordinated, but very well DJ-ed, dance. Much love.

Coffee has also played a major part in my life, so a huge thanks is in order to whoever they decide to name the offical "inventor" of it.

I'm a Survivor by Reba McEntire (2:49)

My mom will tell you I met the devil that day, and I told him to go to Hell. I was the baby girl without a chance, the victim of circumstance, the one who ought to give up but she's just too hard headed. In all seriousness it's a miracle and a blessing to be here. I must have my daddy's will and and Gods' amazing grace.
Reba McEntire - I'm A Survivor Lyrics

Who I am (Rosemary's Granddaughter) by Jessica Andrews (4:06)

I was then, and continue to be known for singing whatever my little heart desires, at the volume my little heart desires. Therefore, I am Joe Barrie's granddaughter, spitting image of my father spitting image of my father, and when the day is done my nana is still my biggest fan.
Who I am (Rosemary's Grandaughter) lyrics

Summer Girls by LFO (4:19)

I still blare this. Judge me.
LFO Summer Girls

I miss you by Blink 182 (3:50)

I learned this song at a very early age along with many others that were way before my time. Shout out to the coolest older brother for that one. I'll never forget the times we just broke out in to song - no music needed. To this day I can't listen to it without a flood of (happy) memories.
Blink 182 - I Miss You (Lyrics)

No Diggity by Blackstreet (4:33)

If you only know about the original rump shakers because of Pitch Perfect, it doesn't count. Reevaluate your life. This is, and always has been, my jam.
Blackstreet - No Diggity ft. Dr. Dre, Queen Pen

Wild Child by Kenny Chesney (3:40)

I cried my eyes out when my mother wouldn't allow 4-year-old me to go see Kenny with her and my sister in Springfield. "You can be a dedicated fan at any age", is what I told her. I can not remember a point in my life when I was more upset. No joke. Hard core, poster above the bed, every CD up to date - dedication. When this this song came out, several people called me and said "If this isn't Rocky, I don't know what is." The accuracy.
Kenny Chesney - Wild Child

Live Like You Were Dying by Tim McGraw (4:27)

Summer of 2013, after a diagnosis of my dad finally came, days later in the middle of a restaurant in South Carolina, this song was something I just could not handle. I lost it. After much improvement to to his health, with the occasional doubt, these lyrics still get to me. Life is so precious. I wish that wasn't so easily forgotten.
Tim McGraw - Live Like You Were Dying (Official Music Video)

A World Alone by Lorde (4:54)

I think I love this song so much because it makes me want to dance, as much as it makes me think, once I really listened to the lyrics.
Lorde - A World Alone (Lyrics)

Young Volcanoes by Fall Out Boy (3:16)

"We are wild, we are like young volcanoes", automatically makes me think of myself and my friends and just kinda where we are at in life right now. It's just a catchy teenage "anthem", if you will.
Young Volcanoes Lyrics - Fall Out Boy (HD&HQ)

I lived by OneRepublic (5:39)

I loved this song. I watched the video, I cried, and then I loved it even more. Words can not explain how much I can relate to everything about this. I wasn't even supposed to have a few seconds in life, but for whatever reason, I've had a lifetime. Therefore my goal will always be, to own every second.
OneRepublic - I Lived

Little Miss by Sugarland (4:32)

I could pick out more than one point in my life where, "It'll be alright again. I'm okay." got me through it.

You Find Out Who Your Friends Are by Tracy Lawrence (3:50)

People come and go. It's life. With that being said, all the same, I'm forever grateful for the friends I do have whether they started with me or joined a little later. Nick Hudson once remixed a quote and said to me, "It's not who you knew the longest, it's who was there when no one else was," tru tru. I love these people more than life itself. They get me through the good, bad and the ugly.

Masterpiece by Jessie J (3:59)

The relevance and accuracy. The perfect way to end my sound track because, I'm still working on my masterpiece...
