RVHS WEEKLY NEWSLETTER

Message From Mr. Dignan

Hello Eagle families!

As we prepare for the upcoming Thanksgiving Break, I hope that your family is well and staying healthy. I would like to express my gratitude for the staff and teachers at RVHS who are working so hard to meet the needs of our students. From hosting Zoom meetings to making porch visits to creating Learning Hubs to completing work permits our staff goes the extra mile. I would also like to show appreciation for our resilient students who continue to persevere through these unusual times.

This next week, please find time to unplug and disconnect. I challenge you to put your devices and remotes in a drawer for a few days. Go for walks, take hikes, play board games, read a good book, watch sunsets and reflect on the things for which you have to be thankful.

We got this!

EMPLOYEE OF THE WEEK

MRS. LAURA COOPER

Mrs. Laura Cooper has been part of the Rancho Vista staff for nearly nine years. She has been an integral part of our school, community and English department. She has been teaching Senior English for sometime now, and if asked, all the students would say she is one of their favorite teachers. Mrs. Cooper has created a wonderful culture within her class, she is extremely well organized, which goes a long way in helping the student population at Rancho. She is a soft spoken person who is always willing to help out wherever needed.

She loves to help out the students in any way possible, she was one of the first to volunteer to do porch visits and has been consistently doing them every week. She is part of our mentor team on campus which is made up of teachers, and staff that have been working hard at reaching out to students. Part of their goal has been to find ways to engage and encourage students during this online learning time.

When you get the chance to speak to Laura you immediately know how caring and loving she is towards her students and those around her. Her true passion is to help students understand their individual strengths and use them to propel them forward in life to success. If you are able to talk to students about Mrs. Cooper not only would you find out how much they respect her, but also how protective of her they are. To many students she is the consistent smiling face in their day, the person who sees them for who they are and what they can become and nothing less.

She is a person who makes the best out of all situations and never complains. She is a consistent support for those in her life, student and family alike. To many people Mrs. Cooper is the constant in their lives, a beckon that helped guide them through to the end. She provides encouragement and support that is with students always, even when they didn’t know they needed it, she was there for them. Mrs. Cooper you are our “ROCK” and our employee of the week. Thank you for all you do. Enjoy a week off… :)
