Help Us Fill the Boot

For Muscular Dystrophy

The Muscular Dystrophy Association is the world’s leading nonprofit health agency dedicated to finding treatments and cures for muscular dystrophy, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and other neuromuscular diseases. We do so by funding worldwide research; by providing comprehensive health care services and support to MDA families nationwide; and by rallying communities to fight back through advocacy, fundraising and local engagement. It’s special work powered by special people who give generously. A couple of years ago, Commerce ISD and the Commerce Fire Department joined up to help fight Muscular Dystrophy. This week, Commerce Middle School students and staff will have an opportunity

This Is How We Do It!

$1 a day free dress

CMS students and staff can participate by paying $1 a day for the last week of school. Students that do so can have free dress for each day they participate. Here are the guidelines for free dress

  • School appropriate shirts (no tank tops or muscle shirts)
  • Shorts (including athletic shorts) are acceptable BUT THEY MUST REACH WITHIN ONE (1) INCH OF THE KNEE.
  • Yes, that's right. I said athletic shorts are okay but they CANNOT be less than an inch above the knee.
  • Other shorts must meet the same guidelines.
  • Leggings cannot be worn as pants, but they may be worn under ACCEPTABLE shorts.
  • Wind pants and sweat pants are allowed.
  • No flip flops, sliders or house shoes.
  • Hats may be worn for an additional $1 per day

We do want students dressed nicely for our end of the year Award's Assembly. Students may change from free dress prior to the assembly.
