What We Learned
We have had a wonderful second week of school! We began switching classes this week so that the teachers and students could get to know each other. In Daily Living with Ms. Rebeckah this year, the students will be learning about skills necessary to be more independent in everyday life. In Community Living with Mr. Eddie, they will learn about different aspects of our community and how to be a contributing member. I am teaching Employability, where we will learn job skills as well as complete activities to discover the students' abilities and interests. I am also teaching Personal Life, where students will learn personal skills such as self advocacy.
In addition to these core content areas, the students participated in Ecology, Art, Home Living, Fitness, Music, and Media this week. Community Based Training (CBT) will be beginning on September 15th.
The students have been doing a great job going to the cafeteria and choosing their lunches, and we will continue to practice important skills at meal time.

Other Notes
Please make sure to check your child's communication folder daily. I will do my best to use your preferred method of communication for student specific questions, but there are times when time only permits a note home. Thank you! :)
