WEDNESDAY is our 2022 Bulldog Dash Day!! We'll be celebrating Dash Day on Wednesday, September 21st! That's the day that begins at 10:45am due to the district late-start plan. Every grade level will have a specific time to run and as parents, you are invited to either volunteer (we celebrate each lap with a rubber bracelet), participate with your child, or just stand back and watch.

Bulldog Dash Schedule:

11:00-11:40, 4th Grade

11:40-12:20, 5th Grade

1:00-1:40, 2nd Grade

1:40-2:20, 1st Grade

2:20-2:50, Kindergarten

2:50-3:30, 3rd Grade

We are looking for volunteers to help with Dash setup! If you can be available on Wednesday morning, please sign up! YES! You may bring your older Bulldogs with you to help if you need to do so. It's a wonderful tradition at Belmont, but there are several moving parts! The signup link is below! Scroll on!

Bulldog Dash is a FUNdraiser!! Here's how to SUPPORT YOUR BULLDOG!

I told you the link would be coming and here it is! THIS is how we raise most of our funds each your to cover our very modest PTO budget. Our GOAL is to raise $15,000.00 in donations. We are so excited to offer you, our busy parents, an easy-peasy way to support our students and staff monetarily, right here at the beginning of the year when we need it most to plan the rest of the year's fun!

The PTO budget supports so many worthy causes including field trips, Learning Expeditions, our student school supply closet, learning projects and subscriptions, technology, staff appreciation, family events and most successfully...our Grant Fairy Program that makes teacher dreams come true all year long!

By following the link provided, you may provide a flat donation, sponsor your child's track sign (coming home today in backpacks) or sponsor a portion of the track (have fun decorating with chalk at your leisure!). Forwarding the link to friends and relatives and businesses is easy and appreciated!

Some of you may be wondering about the change bottles we've sent home in the past. They were a FABULOUS way for students to participate in FUNdraising, and while we may very well bring them out again later in the year (especially if we don't reach our goal to support field trip funding) we are going to see if we can still reach our goal using this very streamlined, focused donation plan.

If you'd like to tell your children that you'll donate AFTER they complete their Bulldog Dash (which can absolutely be anything from a slow stroll to a sprint) on Wednesday. We will keep the Bulldog Dash Donation Link open until September 26 for your convenience! But, there's more! YOU DON'T HAVE TO WAIT! Click that link NOW!

Look for a blank Bulldog Dash Track Sign in your child's backpack tonight! They have possibly even already gotten it out and begun the decoration process! All returned track signs will be displayed around the track on Wednesday. You may return $5 to school with your child or click on that option in the Bulldog Dash Donation Link to pay online.

If every child receives about $50 in sponsorships, we'll hit our goal! The Bulldog Dash is NOT A CONTEST! WE ALL BELONG and we're all in this together, so every dollar supports our collective goal! Of course, we'll celebrate when we hit it! We'll also enjoy many, many PTO benefits all year long.

We can do this! Together! THANK YOU!! Did you get that link? Great! Cash and checks also accepted in our school office! You may also send it to school with your children.

Looking for SPECIFIC ways to support our school through PTO leadership? Check out the list below and consider joining the fun!

  • Co-Chair This position helps support and facilitate all of the things! This person does hold a decision-making seat on the oversight board and will be backed up and supported by an entire team of awesome people.
  • Organizer of the Dog Piles This does sound a bit suspicious, but another FUNdraising opportunity at Belmont is the surprise Dog Pile. Have you seen the flamingo fad? We've got our own version and it's so much fun to see where the dog piles will pop up in the spring. We need organizers of the pop ups, and people to make the magic happen!
  • PTO@BelmontPTO Email Monitor Are you the master of your account? Want to also be the master of ours so that we don't miss anyone? We'd love to share that love!
  • Website Master Our BEPTO website is WordPress driven and ready for a new updater! Is that YOU? Are YOU a WordPress master? It's not that it's hard, it just needs done!
  • YOU! We just need YOU to watch for Bulldog Dash information and have fun with us as we FUNdraise.

Belmont Elementary Site Council 2022-2023

The Belmont Elementary Site Council meets four times yearly and participates as an advisory council with liaison expectations in the community. As a committee, we have no actual authority, however, the Kansas State Board of Education, through Kansas legislation, requires schools to solicit feedback from their stakeholders. This group of individuals comes together to better understand the goals and functions of each school community. Last year, our Site Council had plans to host multiple incredible parent education events, but in light of safety measures, ended up launching the ReSiLiEnCy PrOjEcT, which you will find on our school website. After all, this parenting thing is HARD and we can all use a little advice now and then! If you'd like to be a part of our Site Council, please email me ASAP! We will meet (virtually for now) from 4:30-5:15pm on October 3rd, December 5th, February 6th, and April 3rd.

Picture Day is Tuesday, September 20

Every student will have their picture taken to be included in our school yearbook on Tuesday, September 20. If parents would like to order printed school pictures, it's easy to order online using the information below.

Go to inter-state.com and click on the ORDER HERE tab. Enter the Order Code 70358KF, then follow the prompts to pre-order pictures for your child. Making memories!
