Paraeducator Newsletter
How to "check-in" and support your students online
Use Your Superpowers
- Knowing how our lives have been turned up-side down during these unsettling times, image how our students must be feeling. The paraeducator in the classroom may be the most consistent aspect of a student's day. By checking in after a lesson to see if the student needs help, or just to see how the day is going, can make all the difference to a student. Use your special relationship to take some of the uncertainty out of the strange times we are in. By checking in during, or after the lesson, you are expanding your student's circle of interaction and helping to normalize their day

We will have the same format as last year and all sessions will be at Oakland Schools There will be a full day kickoff in late August and 4 after school or Saturday workshops throughout the year around timely topics. You can come to all events or chose the offerings that support your current work. Each event will have a separate registration process so please let your administrator know if you re interested in attending.
We hope to re-schedule sessions that were cancelled due to Covid 19. You will be informed as we know more.
