Want to Wear Jeans this Week?
If you would like to help with this, please donate towards this cause ($10 minimum). In return you may wear jeans this week on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, in addition to Wednesday and Friday. Excess funds will go towards our campus beautification project this summer when we hope to add some color to the hallways. (Please let us know if you would like to help with that project; we will be sure to keep you informed.)

Plan Your Work and Work Your Plan
No doubt you have already looked at your benchmark data. With interventions beginning, you may want to take another look at the numbers, especially in a couple of areas: Number of students within 5 questions of meeting the "Approaches Grade Level", "Meets Grade Level", and "Masters Grade Level" scores, and the SEs correct (or missed).
This information will be most helpful in planning your reteaching, and your groupings for interventions. For example, we had 101 students within 5 questions of meeting the "Approaches Grade Level" score in social studies and 99 within 5 questions of meeting the same score in 8th grade math; There were 53 students within 5 questions on the 8th grade reading and 78 in science. (Information can be found in the State of the School document located in the Google Drive which was shared with you previously.)
In-day interventions are beginning in the ELAR classes where students will be rotating among the ELAR teachers for specific SE work. Math, science, and social studies are welcome to do the same. In one week, students can get additional help on 4 to 5 SEs!
This is phenomenal! We must to capitalize on this and get these students to tutorials and interventions. We need to make a collective effort to improve attendance, as well. The Leadership Team is working on this and will meet on Monday during 6th period to work through some details.
