CoVid Testing- What Happens If Someone Tests Positive?
The COVID-19 related activity in schools is monitored closely throughout the day and evening by a partnership of City agencies including the NYC Department of Education, NYC Department of Health & Mental Hygiene, and the NYC Test + Trace Corps. We’re delighted to announce the launch of Parent University, a collaboration between the Office of Family and Community Empowerment (FACE) and the Division of Instructional and Information Technology (DIIT)!
Parent University seeks to educate and empower all families from early childhood through adulthood, with free courses, resources, events, and activities. Parents can register for free trainings on a wide range of topics, including adult education, student social-emotional learning, and special education.

Update To Our School Closure - 14 day Closure
12/15/20-
It has been determined by the NYC Test + Trace Corps and the NYC Dept. of Health and Mental Hygiene that our building must remained closed through 12/27/20. However, due to the winter break, the return to our building will be January 4, 2021

5th Grade Moving To The Middle - Middle School Process Updates
Middle School Process- What is Happening?
Welcome Letters will be available for 5th grade families starting next week. Welcome letters provide families with instructions on how to set up a MySchools account and add their child to it using their unique account creation code.
· This week, Welcome Letters were mailed to all current fifth grade families.
· Starting Monday, December 14, we may provide Welcome Letters directly to families as needed. Welcome letters along with Chancellor's Letter to Families will be sent to your child's gmail starting the week of 12/21/20.
· Chancellor's Update for Middle School Admissions (As of 12/18/20)-
Middle School:
· All middle school screens will be paused for this year. This includes academic screens, school-based assessments, composite scores and auditions. Students will be admitted through a lottery based system.
· District and geographic priorities, as well as Diversity in Admissions priorities, will still apply for those middle schools that have them.
Timeline:
· The middle school application will open during the week of January 11, 2021. Families and school staff will be notified when the application opens.
· The deadline for families to submit their middle school application will be the week of February 8, 2021.
· Middle school offers will be available to families and school staff in the spring.

Do not hesitate to reach out to Ms.Gray, Parent Coordinator— she will be your guide throughout the process. Health Education - HIV /Aids Curriculum
As a school, we will conduct the HIV/AIDS lessons starting Monday, January 25th to Friday, January 29th.

Workshop to Support Remote Learning with Spanish-Speaking Families
The DOE, in partnership with Ramapo for Children, is offering “Celebrar & Elevar,” a workshop in Spanish about strategies for families to strengthen their connection when they are learning remotely. Families may attend any of the following sessions:

· January 6, from 5:30-6:30PM
