Staff Update
November 16, 2018
All School Picture
The all school picture will be on Tuesday, November 27th at 9:30. The students will wear their new Hillcrest shirts. We ask that staff wear their purple staff shirts for the picture.
Lunch Counts
Please remember that all lunch counts need to be to the lunchroom by 9:30. A couple of other reminders regarding ordering lunches:
If you have a field trip and will need sack lunches, this needs to be communicated to the lunch staff 1 week prior to you going so they are able to order the correct food.
If you are having a class party where the students will not be eating in the lunchroom for a day, this also needs to be communicated a week ahead of time. Please remember that if you are having a class party, such as a pizza party during lunch, you will need to also provide fruit and vegetable options to make it a well rounded meal if it is to replace what they would have received with the school lunch.

ESL Change
Each year we work ensure adequate staffing across the district for all students. In our evaluation of the ESL program, we found that a shift in staffing is necessary in order to meet the needs of all students. Starting November 26th, Mrs. Woods will be here at Hillcrest only on Wednesdays and Fridays in order for her to provide services at another building within the district. With this change, you will have a change within the schedule for your ELL students which Mrs. Garcia will communicate. In order to meet the needs of all 53 of our ELL students, you will no longer be able to send students down to Mrs. Garcia’s room outside of their normal scheduled time. We know that this will be a change and we appreciate your support and cooperation as we work to ensure all students throughout the district receive the services they need.
Learning Mentors
Learning mentors will not provide services on Tuesday, November 20th. They will resume their normal schedule on November 27th.
