Hello STEM Families!

Welcome to this week's edition of the STEM Weekly Stream. This week is Spirit Week and Homecoming. Make sure to read below for important information about Friday's Pep Rally Schedule.


Pep Rally: Friday at CHS

We are excited that this year’s Homecoming & Fall Sports Pep Rally will be held this Friday, October 21, at 1:00 at Chester High School. All students will be transported from STEM Academy to CHS on Friday to attend the Pep Rally. STEM buses will make their 2:30 pickups from CHS, and parent pickups will be made from there as well.

Friday will be an Activities Day, and students will not be given academic work in their morning classes at STEM. Therefore, students should not bring their Chromebooks that day.

Friday, October 21: Pep Rally Day Protocols

  • STEM students should not bring Chromebooks, notebooks or books to school on Friday
  • All STEM Students and Staff will begin departing STEM for Chester High School at 12:15 PM
  • No Students or Staff will remain at STEM after the final buses leave for CHS
  • Students will be dismissed at 2:30 from CHS (no students will return to STEM)
  • Requests to excuse students from school on Friday should be sent by email to Ms. Jones (, Ms. Dixon (, and Mr. Bell (
  • No Early Dismissals will be permitted from STEM after 11:00 AM

Should you have questions regarding the schedule for Friday, please contact the STEM Academy Office at 610-447-3650. Once again, we are excited that we are able to include this special event in our school calendar this year.

Homecoming Dance

The Homecoming Dance will be held this Friday as well, from 6:00-9:00 PM at STEM. The Dance is open to all STEM and CHS students in Grades 9-12. Tickets must be purchased in advance, and will not be sold at the door!

Three Weeks Left in the First Quarter

The First Marking Period ends on Friday, November 4. Students have just three weeks to ensure their First Report Card is as good as it can be. Make sure to remind them to work hard and finish the quarter strong.

Home Access Center

The Home Access Center (HAC) allows families to view their students' grades and attendance in real time. By logging into the HAC, you can stay up to date on your student's progress and know immediately if they miss class or assignments.

If you do not have your HAC set up yet, email Ms. Misha Memon ( She will reply with your username, password and a link to the log in page.

We encourage All Students and Families to check HAC every day!

Each month, STEM teachers and staff identify a student from each grade who goes above and beyond to demonstrate outstanding achievement in Scholarship, Character and Leadership.

Staff Member of the Month

School Counselor, Ms. Turner-Wright was recognized as the STEM September Staff Member of the Month. Demonstrating her commitment to students in many ways, Ms. Turner-Wright is an extremely important member of the STEM Academy Team. Congratulations and thank you! After School Program

After School Program Accepting Registrations!

The After School Program at STEM is off and running. We encourage all families to sign their students up for the program.

Academic support and tutoring is available daily, and is extremely beneficial to students who need extra help, as well as those who just need a good setting for doing homework and studying.

Additionally, there are a number of popular extra-curricular opportunities, including Robotics, Drama and Gymnastics with Mr. Harris, which is getting great reviews from students. The link to sign up for After School is below.

The following programs are currently offered in the After School Program, and we hope to add more as the year progresses:

Additionally, daily tutoring is available in Math, ELA and Science, as well as College & Career Planning.

College Excursion

Information about this year's College Excursion was distributed to Seniors on Friday afternoon. The trip will run from Monday, November 14 through Friday, November 18, and take students to visit campuses in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia and North Carolina.

Voter Registration

During the College & Career Workshop, we provided eligible Seniors an opportunity to register to vote. We have an important election coming up on November 8, and it's important our students understand the importance of exercising their right to vote. Many thanks to the New Pennsylvania Project for providing volunteers to register our students.

Buy Tickets in Advance

To avoid the lines, purchase your tickets to Saturday's Homecoming Game in advance. Tickets will be sold in the Athletic Office at Chester High from 4:00-6:00 on Tuesday and Thursday.
