Claires Court Bulletin

From 8.30am there should be no parking in the visitors spaces at the front of school. Please use the parent’s car park by the sports hall. For your own safety and the safety of your children we request you adhere to this rule.

On a similar note we heard of a very near miss between parents on the roundabout in Cannon Lane. Please be clear as to who has right of way as there could be serious consequences and take caution entering and leaving the driveway and roundabout.

To support the Ridgeway project Claires Court will be carrying out a short survey of traffic arriving and leaving the three sites next week. As well as automated counters there will be manned traffic surveys undertaken on Tuesday 11 and Wednesday 12 February. The persons carrying out the surveys will be positioned in the vicinity of the sites and will be identifiable by their hi-vis jackets and name badges.

Yesterday I thoroughly enjoyed my coffee and croissant during year 5's French Breakfast! Boys dressed as waiters and all were encouraged to use French to place their orders. We have also held auditions this week for next week's 'Ridgeway's Got Talent'. Boys in years 4 - 6 have been rehearsing their various pieces and we look forward to the finals on Thursday afternoon.

This weekend we have boys at football and chess tournaments, the U9 footballers defending their win at the St Bernard's tournament of last year. Good luck to those boys and also our U9 and U11 chess teams who are competing in the EPSCA 1st round qualification tournament at Twickenham Prep School. A busy time for many boys and parents - thank you for your support.

Mindlab News

This week saw the completion of another class tournament where the boys put their skills to the test to compete for a place in the Claires Court Junior boys Mindlab team. Through lots of hard work and practice at school and at home, Alec Ellis proudly achieved Gold and will be part of the team at the Mindlab Olympics in May. He was closely followed by Ojas Arora winning Silver and Jake Bains-Gillespie gaining Bronze. All of the boys played with great spirit and should feel proud of their achievements.
