We Are Dexter Park
Parent and Community Weekly Newsletter
January 11th-15th, 2016
I hope this newsletter finds you well. We at Dexter Park are happy to be back in the building from winter break and are busy each day working together and learning new things. I welcomed back students and staff on January 4th at our monthly all-school assembly. I also asked all of Dexter Park to join me in "One Word for 2016". The idea of this is that instead of making a resolution that is often broken, we think about who we want to be in the coming year and choose one word that we can commit to. We may stray at times, but our word provides focus and direction in the coming year. More importantly, it is of value to students because it is their word and they own it. You will see all of our students' words in the photo below.
My word for 2016 in "Connect", which means this year I am going to strive to make more meaningful connections: with students, with staff, and with you. I am going to be in classes more, talking with staff, and sharing the wonderful moments that I get to experience each day at Dexter Park. Consider this weekly newsletter a commitment to provide you with a connection that I hope you find of value.
I welcome your feedback if you feel there is something you would like to see included in future newsletters. I thank you for your time, energy, and commitment to your student's education.
