September 1, 2017

Dear Mustangs,

Another great week at Midway! Our Mustangs arrived each day wearing a smile and ready to learn. Thank you parents for joining us as we finished our grade level and EAGLES orientations this week.

Please see our PTO and FIC Fall Fundraising Information included in the newsletter. Your student will also be bringing this information home with them today. We thank you for your support.

Please note we have no school on Monday as we observe Labor Day. Enjoy your children, rest, relax and enjoy a great book!

Yours truly,

Jan Fickling, Principal of Midway Elementary

Bus Info:

Please note that students are only allowed to ride the bus assigned to their home address. Because the buses are at capacity, students are not allowed to ride alternate buses home with friends. The only case where this is allowable is if a student needs to ride his or her assigned bus but get off at a different stop on the same route. In this case, a written note is required from the parent so that a bus pass can be issued by administration.

Learning Commons:

We're using SignUp.com to organize our upcoming Book Fair volunteer opportunities. We would love to have your help during this fun celebration of reading!

Here's how it works in 3 easy steps:

2) Review the options listed and choose the spot(s) you like.

3) Sign up! It's Easy - you will NOT need to register an account or keep a password on SignUp.com.

Take Your Parent to PE Week

September 25-29, 2017

Active Schools, a national movement to help schools provide at least 60 minutes a day of physical education (PE) and before, during and after school for physical activity for all students, is sponsoring the first-ever Take Your Parent to PE Week from September 25-29, 2017.

What is the purpose?

To introduce your school’s PE program and teachers to parents so they will engage with PE throughout the year. And, to encourage families to be physically active together at home and in the community.

How can parents participate?

By showing up for your child’s physical education class on one of the days in which the school is participating in Take Your Parent to PE Week.
