Dear parents and students,

On behalf of the faculty and staff at Mustang Middle School, welcome to the 2020-21 school year! We are so excited for students to return to learning after such a long break. This school year will look very different from years past, but our goals haven't changed. We will provide a high quality education in a safe and supportive learning environment to ensure that every student achieves their highest potential.

A strong partnership is more important than ever during these constantly changing times. We recognize that in order to be successful in school, our students need support from both home and school. We want to assure you that we will do everything possible to assure your student is safe and successful.

Mustang Middle School Health/ Safety FAQ's

Mustang Middle School has created a list of frequently asked questions with answers specific to Mustang Middle School. Please use the link below to find additional information on our plan to keep our students and staff safe.


SCHEDULE PICK UP- August 17 ( Non-Virtual Students)

The information below is ONLY for students planning to attend school in person on August 24th.


8th Grade Parents Only

If you would like to receive your schedule via email, a virtual option has been created for 8th graders only. Once this form is completed and verified, your child's schedule will be emailed to the email address provided no later than August 16th. We hope this will help simplify the schedule pickup process and avoid long lines and crowds. The last day to submit information for the virtual schedule pickup will be August 13th.

  • 8th grade parents must have their parent portal login information to submit payment for student fees. If you do not have this information, the virtual schedule pickup will not be an option. If you have created a parent portal account and accessed parent portal in previous years but have forgotten your password, you will be able to reset your password and use the virtual option.

  • The link to the form and instructions for completing this option will be emailed to all 8th grade parents in a separate email by August 3rd.


All Students

(7th graders and 8th graders that did not complete the online virtual option)

Schedule pick-up will be on August 17th.

  • 11:00 - 1:00 (Last Names A-G)

  • 1:00 - 3:00 (Last Names H-O)

  • 3:00 - 6:00 (Last Names P-Z)

* We ask that only one parent/guardian attend schedule pick up per child. Mask will be required by all persons entering the building.

**To receive your schedule, you will need to provide a photo ID, proof of residence, shot records (7th graders only if necessary), pay your student fees, and complete the yearbook/school pictures opt in form.

***Any financial obligations from the previous school year must be cleared and payed before your child's schedule will be released.

Schedule Pick Up : Virtual and Virtual + OSSAA

Schedule pick up for virtual and virtual + OSSAA students WILL NOT be on August 17th. We will provide information to these students regarding schedule pick up very soon. Watch your in box for important details.



Open House will be done virtually for the 2020-2021 school year. Videos will be posted on each teacher's website and Canvas homepage that will allow you to get to know your student's teachers and what to expect for the upcoming year in that teacher's classroom. Teachers will gladly answer any questions you may have following open house.


We are happy to be selling customized "MORSEY MASK" to begin the school year. The masks are comfortable, lightweight, and washable. The masks come in both adult and youth sizes. Masks are on sale for $8.00 each. Masks are available for purchase now by clicking the following link.


In order to order online, you will need your parent portal login information. If you choose to order in person, this option will be available at schedule pick up. All masks will be delivered prior to the first day of school.

School Shirts

We are excited to offer school shirts again for the 2020-2021 school year. Due to the uncertain times, we will only be offering these through pre-orders. Pre-Orders and payment will be available starting August 17th.

Shirts will be on sale for:

$25.00 ( XXL & XXXL)

* The shirts are black with white and gray font. Examples will be available in person at the front office and at schedule pick up.

Mustang Middle School Athletics

As of today, middle school athletics will be played as normal. We offer many sports for your child to choose from. 7th Grade Orientation

Our in person 7th grade orientation has been CANCELLED. We want to keep the safety of our students and staff our number one priority.

Our 8th grade leadership team (Strive), will still be creating a 7th grade orientation video that will be sent out via email before schedule pick up. All students will still be able to tour the building during schedule pick up to find their classes.

First Day of School Monday, August 24

  • Students are to bring school supplies on the first few days of school. Supplies can be brought in increments so that students aren’t overloaded on the first day.

  • If your student rides the bus, please be sure he/she knows what their BUS NUMBER is so they will know what bus to look for after school! We also ask for your patience during the first few days. There will be delays with buses both before and after school, but it will improve within the first week!

  • The school day is 8:40 am - 3:35 pm. Please do not drop your student off earlier than 8:10. Students may not enter the building prior to 8:10, as there is no adult supervision.

Student Fee Information

Student Fee Information:

School-wide fundraisers at the middle school level have been replaced with a student fee. We are asking parents to pay a $20 student fee for the 2020-2021 school year.

As every parent knows, our elementary and intermediate schools typically have school-wide fundraisers to provide funds for numerous school needs. These needs include materials and equipment used for classroom activities, consumable materials for the classrooms, technology needs, student rewards, and more. Over the years, middle school administration has received many comments from parents who were tired of these and would prefer to simply contribute the money they would spend themselves on the fundraiser.

This fee can be paid at schedule pick up. Additionally, information regarding payment through the parent portal will be released as we get closer to the schedule pick up.

Our hope is that it simplifies your life by eliminating the school-wide fundraisers and the fees that have typically been associated with some classes.

NOTE: If your child is involved in extracurricular activities such as athletics, band, vocal, etc., there will still be some program-specific fundraisers your child may be asked to participate in order to raise funds specifically for that program.
