Principal Message
Greetings, Ride Families!
The book fair opened on Wednesday and we are very happy about the turnout. The kids love shopping and getting books to read during the break. Mrs. Fishman spends time helping them learn how to pick out just the right book based on their interest and reading level. So, when they are ready to shop, they know what to look for! You can send cash or utilize the e wallet – see below.
Tomorrow is Storytime with Santa from 9:30 - 11:00. Thank you so much for coming out and supporting our school’s efforts to build relationships with our community and families. Bring your family and enjoy a morning of special holiday activities and get a pic with Santa!! There are so many fun things to do – building memories with your family.
Please be sure to place your child’s name in jackets and on water bottles. We will be happy to return them to their owner – if we knew who they were.
It’s Book Fair Time
Our Book Fair is December 6th – 12th in the school library. During the week, the Book Fair is open from 7:30 – 3:00. The Book Fair will also be open during Breakfast with Santa on December 9th. Our last day of book fair is Tuesday, December 12th. Thanks for supporting our Book Fair. Profits support our Sally K Ride library.
Digital Payment Option for Book Fair
We have a great digital payment option that is highly encouraged for students to use. Parents can set up an eWallet for students, deposit money into it, and students will not have to bring money to school. Visit our Book Fair homepage at https://www.scholastic.com/bf/sallykrideelementaryschool
to open up an eWallet account for your child. Any left over money in the eWallet will be put on a gift card for your student to use at future fairs or online. If you have money left over from the last book fair, you can sign in to your ewallet and transfer the money to this book fair.
Teacher Book Fair Wish Lists
Teachers have a wish list of books that they would like for their classroom. If you would like to purchase your child’s teacher a book, each teacher has a box in the book fair with books they would like for their classroom. You can pull a book out of their box and purchase it for them. It is always fun to let your child deliver it as a gift to his/her teacher and classroom.
Thanks for supporting the SKR teachers and the SKR library!

Lunch Sign-Up
Due to limited seating in the cafeteria, we are offering two options for lunch signups. You will have the opportunity to sign up to eat in the cafeteria with your child or outside in our gazebo/picnic table area. You will not be able to change locations after signup is complete. If you sign up to eat outside and it rains, you will be unable to move into the building due to limited seating. You may sign up for another day/time.
Each slot is available for two adults and the child you are eating lunch with..
Please see the schedule below for designated grade level lunch visitor’s days. Make sure that you sign up under the correct time slot for your child’s lunchtime. Each student may have two visitors every 3-4 weeks. This ensures every parent has an opportunity to sign up. Remember to bring a valid id when you visit the building.
Due to limited seating in the cafeteria, we are asking all parents with small children to eat outside in the gazebo area.
