Christ Child Academy Newsletter
April 25, 2019
From the Desk of Mr. Ruedinger
Registration for the 2019-2020 school year is now open to all new families on a first come, first serve basis. There will be a maximum enrollment of 12 in the 3K preschool program.
April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month. In addition to the efforts throughout the year, the Archdiocese of Milwaukee has always recognized the importance of Child Abuse Prevention Month in April. This year, the Archdiocese has also designated April 29th - May 5th as Safe Environment Week. In doing so, we can assure that every parish and school, as well as the entire faith community, focuses on the importance of keeping our children and youth safe. You can find more information about Child Abuse Prevention Month on the Archdiocese’s website at Safeguarding April 2019.
Christ Child Academy is excited to announce that a second CCA alum has earned Valedictorian honors from the graduating class of 2019. Brenna McDonough has also been named Valedictorian from South High School. Brenna McDonough and Ashley Paltzer's names will both be added to the scrolls on the gym wall this summer. What a wonderful representation for our school!
Grandparents Day/May Crowning is scheduled for Tuesday, May 7 with Mass beginning at 8:30 am.
Just a reminder, the Spring Vocal Concert will be held Wednesday, May 8 in the Staskunas Activity Center/Gym beginning at 6:00 pm. All students in grades K-8 are to report to their classrooms at 5:30 pm. Please have your students wear spring colors and dress in their "Sunday best", modest and appropriate-for-church clothes. Please review the CCA Family Handbook Dress Code. The song lyrics can be found by visiting Mrs. Harder's music CCA website page or at https://christchildacademymusic.weebly.com/ for the students to practice.
The Spring Band Concert will be held Wednesday, May 15 at 6:30 pm at Christ Child Academy in the Staskunas Activity Center/Gym.
MAP testing will be held the week of May 13-16. All students in grades K - 8 will be tested to see how they have progressed this year. Please do not schedule any appointments for your children during this time. It is important that the students are in attendance and well-rested, so they can do their best on the tests. Thank you for your cooperation.
Please spread the word about CCA! There are incentives for each student a family recruits to our school. Please see our Student Referral Program below for detail.

And you help us fund more lifesaving scientific research and critically needed education efforts.Thank you.
Almost every family in America is touched by heart disease or stroke, and your school's contribution will significantly impact our fight against these devastating illnesses.
We hope that you, your faculty and your students found this lifesaving effort rewarding and enjoyable. You are touching so many lives - and life is why we exist as an organization. Your help and support are greatly appreciated, and we look forward to partnering again with you next year!

Safeguarding All God's Family
If parents or grandparents plan to participate in field trips, work in the lunchroom, coach, or help out at school, you must attend a Safeguarding All God’s Family training through the Archdiocese of Milwaukee. You must register on-line at www.archmil.org and indicate you are associated with Christ Child Academy. If you have not previously been trained, now is a great time to attend a session.
Box Tops for Education
CCA can earn money from clipping Box Tops found on various products. When you buy items, simply clip the Box Top and bring it to CCA. The Box Tops are submitted, and our school receives a check which is used towards our activity fund. It’s another easy way for you to help the school by purchasing the products you already use! Enlist your family, friends and neighbors to collect the Box Tops, too.
CCA Family Camping Weekend
