Valentine Happenings
- Mailboxes: Directions for Valentine Mailboxes are attached and in backpacks today. These can be as elaborate or as simple a project as you like, and can be sent in anytime (we will display in the hallway), but no later than Feb. 14th. Students will collect their valentine cards in their boxes.
- Valentine Cards: Students are invited to bring Valentine Cards in for their classmates. Distribution and opening cards will be part of our party on the 14th. Students must have a card for each classmate -- a class list is on the back of the attached flyer.
- Party!: Our Valentine's Day Party is on Wed., Feb. 14th in the afternoon. Students will distribute and open their cards, make a cookie, and watch a short, mushy movie (Snoopy!). While no volunteers are needed for this one, you can sign up to donate a treat at THIS LINK. Thank you!!
**All flyers are posted on our socials and on our web page
Wrapped Up in Kindness (service project)
This project turned out even better than I expected. I'm so proud of the kids and how much they learned and showed their kindness. I delivered our last batch of blankets last Saturday. In total, we donated 30 blankets to COVER Lafayette. Once again, a huge thank you to our parent helpers....we couldn't have done it without you!!
Bell Ringing Total
The Salvation Army reached out with our total donations collected during our December Bell Ringing. (drum roll) We collected $343.58!! Well done, kids....once again, making a difference in our community!!!
Eagle Cam
Each day, we check in on an Eagle Cam, located in Big Bear, California. The bonded eagle pair, Jackie (female) and Shadow (male), are fascinating to watch. Last week, Jackie laid her first egg of the season and over the weekend added a second egg to her clutch. We are hoping for some eaglets at the beginning of March! If students (and you) would like to check in on the eagles at home, here is the YouTube LINK.
Book It!
January Book It sheets are due this Thurs., Feb. 1st. Don't forget the parent signature!! (this is an optional activity). February Book It! sheets will come home this day, too.
Attendance Line and Dismissal Changes
If your child is going to be absent from school, the office asks you to please call the Hershey Attendance Line at 765-269-8342. Also, if there is a change in your child's dismissal, please call the Hershey Office directly before 2:30 at 765-269-8280 rather than emailing the teacher(s).....we don't always check our email and don't want to miss anything. Thanks!!
