KAES Keenections
The weekly newsletter for Keene Adventist Elementary School
September 29, 2023
Only 2 week until the end of 1st quarter
We only have two weeks left in the first quarter. Continue to encourage your child to stay focused and do his/her best. Teachers are available to talk, if you have any questions on how you can best help at home.
It's picture time in Texas or at least at KAES.
Get your calendars out and mark Oct. 13 as picture day. Students should come in their Friday chapel uniform. Class pictures will also be taken and these pictures will be used in the yearbook. In the spring we will offer a photo day when students do not have to be in uniform. Materials have been sent home so you can order pictures.
3rd grade field trip to SWAU
They had the opportunity to visit 88.3 The Journey, the SWAU Dinosaur museum, the education department, and the gymnasium for some play time. They even found time to share encouraging goody bags with university students they meet along the way. It is great to be a part of this educational community.
Have y'all been cleared?
Many classes are starting to go on fall field trips. If you want to be a sponsor and support your child's teacher making these trips possible then you must be cleared through Sterling Volunteer. Please get this completed now.
The Young Peacemaker - Week 4
I have included an outline of what was discussed and taught this week. My hope is that this can benefit your family at home just as much as at school. Remember your child should already be familiar with these ideas.
βThe wisdom of the prudent is to give thought to their waysβ (Prov. 14:8)
(The big Idea) Wise-way choices are better than my-way choices.
(The main points)
Two way to make choices
- The my-way approach
- The wise-way approach
The my-way approach goes like this:
You have a sinful desire
Leads to a bad choice
Result in a bad consequence
And bad feelings
The wise-way approach goes like this:
You confess your sinful desire
Pray for a desire to please God
- Leads to a good choice
- Results in a good consequence
- And good feelings
1. Seek godly advice
If you are not sure about what choice to make, you should ask someone you trust for advice. You could ask your parents, a friend or relative, your teacher, or your pastor to help you decide what is right.
2. Wise choices can prevent conflict
Foolish choices come from a proud, self-centered heart that is only concerned about satisfying selfish desires. Foolish choices often cause conflict.
Wise choices come from a humble heart that trusts God and wants to do what is right according to the Bible. Wise choices usually prevent conflict.
