May 2016 Newsletter
We have had a gorgeous start to spring and the trees and flowers have begun to bloom. Some of you have shared stories of camping, trail riding, biking and just hanging out with friends. I am sure we will hear more of these stories during the month. These pursuits are so important to help with your overall health and wellness.
Another way of staying healthy and happy is to limit your stress. Staying on track this last full month of school can go a long way to help you minimize the stress you may feel as the year draws to a close. Remember, your teachers are there for you and want to see you successfully through the rest of your school year. Ask for help! Come in and chat; call them on the phone; send an email. Don't be afraid to reach out!
Our students enjoyed a wonderful day volunteering at the Bethany Care Centre in Airdrie. The students worked alongside some lovely senior citizens and painted mailboxes together for outside of the seniors' rooms. Everyone had a great time chatting and getting to know each other while painting! You can see some photos below of our time together. Thank you to all the students who came out to volunteer!
PE AND HLS
Wow, the great weather is FINALLY here so it’s a great time to get outside during your 30 minutes of PE per weekday and try some different sports. Keep active and remember to give your mind and body the boost it needs for 30 minutes each day. This is important, as you have learned in HLS, for your emotional well being and it helps to reduce your stress levels.
