Note from the principal...
As we catch a glimpse of the sunrise in the morning, there are signs of Spring starting to pop up all around us. With this comes new seasons at the high school which include spring sports, drama's spring production of Cinderella, concerts, proms, and honors, to name just a few. On the horizon is warm weather and graduation for our seniors. Senior parents should check and double-check calendars, grades and obligations (listed below.) We do not want any surprises at the end of the year that could prevent your child from participating in our graduation ceremony. End of the 3rd card marking is quickly approaching, happening on March 29th. Spring Break will take place March 30th - April 6th this year. The week we return from Spring Break will consist of testing for all students, as follow:
April 10th - SAT (11th Graders), PSAT 9 and PSAT 10
April 11th - Work Keys (11th Graders)
April 12th - MSTEP Social Studies and Science (11th Graders)
Some other events that are happening throughout March include:
March 14 - Moscar Awards for Seniors at the PAC, 7:00 PM, $2.00 entry fee, open to public for a night of fun
March 17 - MSBOA State Solo and Ensemble Festival at Lapeer High School
March 21 - Student Government Blood Drive from 7AM - 2 PM
March 24 - Glow Fest at MCHS from 7-10PM, for students
March 27 - NHS Inductions, 7:00PM at the PAC
March 28 - Marine City Bands Dinner Concert at Marine City Cafeteria, 5:00 PM
Important Mandatory Dates for Graduating Seniors
Please make sure you reserve the following dates on the calendar, for attendance IS REQUIRED for the graduating Seniors:
May 25th - Seniors last day, Senior breakfast and commencement practice (mandatory)
May 30th - Honors Convocation, 7:00 PM (mandatory)
June 3rd - Class of 2018 Commencement Ceremony, 1:00 PM, MCHS Gymnasium

Choir News
Thursday, March 8, MC Choir students will work in a clinic at the PAC during hours 4-5-6. We welcome Dr. Mike Mitchell from Oakland University to work with our students! Concert at 7 pm.
Marine City Choirs will be performing at MSVMA District Choral Festival. Tentative dates are March 13 for the combined Festival Chorus, and March 15 for Chorale. Please check our facebook or web page for updated information. We need adult chaperones, please! Permission slips for travel will be sent home soon.
Auditions and enrollment for next year's MC Choirs will begin very soon! Please feel free to contact Mr. Van Dyke for more information. ALL students are welcome to join our program!
