Students Solving Real Wrold Problems
On September 19, 2023, Ms. Sonnenfeld’s Algebra II Honors students began working on a project involving the High school ramps for the handicapped. Their project required them to do complex measurements and formulas to determine if the ramps met the Americans with Disabilities Act requirements. The students had four days to complete the project, which they presented on September 22. They discovered that most of the ramps were built before the ADA was set in motion, meaning that most of the ramps do not meet the requirements. Mr. Kiker was impressed with the student’s project, and he gave a thorough explanation of the reason why the ramps were unable to be changed to meet the new requirements.
Spanish II Field Trip
Today, Mrs. Vogel's Spanish II students attended the Hispanic Flamenco Ballet at the Kirkland Auditorium in Broken Arrow. It presented an educational opportunity to learn about the Hispanic culture.
